Fahrenheit 451’s plot takes place in a predominant mass-median world where firefighters legitimately don't exist. There are firemen though, who instead of shooting out water from their hoses, it keroscene. And book are burned daily, not for pleasure, but to have equality in the world. Ray Bradbury presents us with this idea of a world without any intellectuals for a strive of complete equality. In Bradbury’s world, the people believe that that the whole point in living is to just be happy and fun. Books are presented as like a weapon causing unhappiness and disagreements, which was why they were made illegal. According to Captain Beatty
“A book is a loaded gun in the house next door.”
The past and present would even be manipulated by the government
