The definition of a fair tip varies across the United states, tips range anywhere from 12%-20% of the total bill. While this is fair based on the quality of service, its not equal for those who receive tipped minimum wage. Simply because tipped minimum is wage is nearly half of regular minimum wage and after taxes and the cost of living's inflation the tips still dont raise it to even out between employees. Taxes have been a problem in our country since its' very begining and are a major problem within the tipped staffs' industry as well. Tips are a major portion of these employees budgets since they have halved wages. I feel as they do the extra work of dealing with the customers and showing extra care they are deserving
