In the fairytale “The Goose Girl” the concept of home-away-home is shown through the experiences of the princess. The first home is simply the queen’s daughter’s title as “the princess”. This is a home for her because this is what she has been used to and known all her life. Which at the beginning of the story, the princess is at her home kingdom and still claims the title as the princess. Since she is at the age to where she could get engaged and get married to a prince from a different country, her mother made arrangements with a king from a distant kingdom so that her daughter and his son could get married.
