1. What do we know about false memories?
False memories are defined as a recollection of incorrect or misleading details of an event. This term is also used for the recollection of an event which in reality did not occur. Studies demonstrate that older people shows inaccuracy of the memory more than youngers. Thus, they mislead and misrepresent an event of the past. Moreover, older people insist that their recollection of the past event should be considered as accurate and precise. The examples of false memories include being lost in childhood, claim of parents or family members about the occurrence of an event and having memories about committing an act of crime which in fact they never committed.

2. How does one create them?
False memories are in fact injected by the family members, friends or the society as a whole in which they claim that a particular event occurred in the past, so the other take them as a part of his/her memory.
