The Iranian American man’s shop was ransacked and he feels that he is being discriminated upon due to his race. He thinks that his life here is full of people trying to cheat him. In the end, he chooses to solve his problem by leaving his fate in the hands of a revolver. He believed that shooting David is the solution to his problem of discrimination on him and his family. That little red box of free ammunition was a box of “ Westminster, .38 Special, Black Powder Blanks. Full Loads.” His luck was the daughter unwillingly choosing the wrong ammunition initially. When David’s daughter, Lara, jumped into his arms as he believed he was close to death, Farhad pulled the trigger threatening the life of an innocent 5 year old.
