In the novel of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck, two characters named George and Lennie achieve conflict together because George acts like a father figure toward Lennie. In chapter one George says “‘You never had none, you crazy bastard. I got both of em here. Think I’d let you carry your own work?’”. In a Father son relationship, the father looks out for his son. George knew Lennie would lose the mouse so George took the mouse and looked out for it for Lennie. Another conflict in the novel was in chapter one George says” ‘But you ain’t gonna get in no trouble, because if you do, I won’t let you tend the rabbits’ “. George treats Lennie like his child and punishes him if he does wrong just like a father does to his child
