As the war gets worse, Mr. and Mrs. Rosen go into hiding with the help of Peter Neilson, a member of the Danish Resistance, leaving Ellen with the Johansen family. One night, soldiers enter the house in search of the Rosen’s, seeing Ellen they question who she is as she does not have blonde hair like Annemarie and her sister.
