1. Fauquier Gas Company is one of 440 gas companies in the United States.
2. Mr. Bill Murphy is the manager of supply management in the Carolina’s.
3. Mr. Murphy is responsible for the purchase of materials used in the gas distribution process such as fittings, pipes and meters.
4. Mr. Murphy is also responsible for the procurement of furniture, stores management, materials forecasting and control, systems and forms.
5. Supply falls under the management control of the vice-president for operations.

Once all the information is gathered from all the companies I would talk to the vice president of operations and show him the approximate timeline that is available with the limited amount of information that I had already gathered to ensure he knows that the current timeline is unsustainable or sustainable with the current way the project team is doing business. This would show the potential financial impact due to impractical timing and the rush that will have to be placed on the orders. I would also show that the new specifications for pipe sizes are either going to be supportable or not by getting the suppliers of the pipe to offer pricing for the new specifications.
VI. Implementation 1. In order to implement this potentially huge project without the proper information is going to be hard due to the lack of information coming from other departments. First thing that has to be done is get the correct specifications for the pipe and the type of wrapper required. Without that information though, the first thing that has to be done is to go to the vice president of operations and get him to form a cross-functional team so that all parties involved have adequate say in the decision making process. Secondly, the supply manager has to get ahead of the project leads and get information from the list of suppliers with the information already attained from the project managers to this point.
