As Vice President of a club at my school called Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), I was in charge of coming up with a community service event. I wanted to create some new; something FBLA has never done before. I also wanted to help a charity within my community rather than a large organization because I believe that helping the betterment of your area will create a chain reaction and eventually spread across the state and then the country. I thought that creating a 'fun run' (called the "FBLA Splash Dash") would spread awareness about the chosen organization as well as promoting overall health. As the Event Coordinator, I worked with my FBLA team to create the fun run. With the money we raised, we donated 100% of the proceeds to the Achievement Center for Children and Families; an organization dedicated to serve low-income children and families to ensure school readiness, provide skill building opportunities, and promote academic achievement. FBLA has only been a part of my school for a few years, so I wanted to create an event that would better the club and most importantly, my community. I previously attended a 'color run' that I found was entertaining and motivating for people to stay active. I was inspired by the run and presented the idea to the FBLA board. I made a point that Student Government, the largest club on campus, creates large-scale activities that brought attention to the association. I said that if we made the "FBLA Splash Dash" happen at our school, we could also make a large-scale event that would promote our new club and get more people to donate to the local organization we paired up with. After all, if we went through with it, we would be the first in our FBLA district to create an event that was donating 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit. From that moment on, my team and I devoted every spare minute we had to create the water
