Without grammar, learners can communicate effectively only in a limited number of situations. (Drobot, 2014). Grammar can be explained as being the backbone of a language which students must understand in order to communicate correctly and effectively. Simply put, grammar is the foundation for effective communication. Communicating correctly means students will communicate without errors that will hinder understanding of meaning, and communicating effectively means students will have the ability to clearly express their thoughts, feelings, wants, or needs. Improper grammar usage can affect the meaning and coherence of an intended thought or message. Grammatical errors are easy to make, so just as rules are important in daily situations, grammar rules are also important in daily situations for the understanding of purpose and meaning. In this course, students will learn the rules of grammar and how to apply them. Students will also learn to write and speak without error. These skills alone will set students apart from
