1. INTRODUCTION
In the 1900’s San Francisco was developing at an increasing rate and because of its large bay it was easy for ships to access the area and for businesses to be run through this city. a Ferry was used to transport people from one side of the river to the other. With the increase of people and later automobiles, traffic started to be a problem and there was delays at the ferry so people had to wait longer to get to their destinations.
The delays was an inconvenience and a frustration for businessmen that travelled with it daily. Thanks to certain key persons and visionaries a solution was formed. These people devoted everything to implementing this solution, which was building a bridge over the river.
