Long bones are named why they are because they are bigger in length than width. They are found in the lower and upper limbs.
3. Flat bones are so named because their surfaces are flat and thin. This kind of bone can be slightly curved. Some examples of a flat bone are the sternum, the scapulae, cranial bones, and ribs.
