Five-year Faculty Evaluation Report
The current reporting period consists of 60 months at Northern Michigan University, following a successful application for promotion to the rank of professor effective August 2011. I continue to enjoy working at NMU with faculty, staff, and students as part of my assigned responsibilities of teaching and scholarship and/or professional development and engaging with faculty and staff as part my university-wide responsibilities for professional service. I relish my expanding expertise in my work. I feel confident in my responsibilities to our students, assured in my abilities to be valuable to the university and the community, and constructive in my disposition. Since teaching is the primary consideration in my Assigned Professional Responsibilities, I begin my summary with teaching and advising, followed by Professional Development and/or Scholarship, which includes research, grant writing, grant administration, and other forms of scholarship. Lastly, I will discuss my Professional Service to my university and the School of Education, Leadership, and Public Service (SELPS) in the areas of school leadership, educational consulting, committee responsibilities, and other activities.
My intention in this evaluation period and subsequent evaluation periods is to focus mainly on the area of Scholarship and/or Professional Development, although during this reporting period my work was split between Professional Service and Professional Development and/or Scholarship.

NMU SELPS students submit their course evaluations online using the SELPS online student evaluation form using a rating scale of 1-4 with four indicating the highest favorable ratings. During the last week of every grading period, I send an email to the students to online students and remind face-to-face students with information about the anonymous online evaluation process. Students complete the evaluations offsite or in the classroom on the last week of class. I am not present during the time students complete their course evaluations. I place information about how to access the online course evaluation system in eduCAT and post the information on the information discussion forum. I leave the classroom when students complete the course
