As a child, I was not interested in politics or political figures until I was entranced with the monarch known as Queen Bee or Beyoncé. There is a clear difference between her and most pop artists. She is an inspiration to girls everywhere with her numerous displays of kindness and her outspoken views on feminism. She has also shown to not let roadblocks stop further success. Notably, Beyoncé is an incredibly caring and kind person and shows it in small ways. At her concerts, she sometimes lets people in the crowd sing in the microphone individually or will sing to one specific person. Instead of using her tweets to start fights, Beyoncé posts messages about charities and humanitarian causes. A noteworthy incidence she showed selfness, though, was at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Beyoncé had Taylor Swift come onstage to finish her acceptance speech after hers had been interrupted by Kanye West. At the 2014 VMA’s, Beyoncé let her stand on feminism be heard; the idea being the main point of her performance. In her song, “Flawless”, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s famous speech on the advocacy is sampled to reinforce the true meaning of the song. Most people may prefer the Nicki Minaj version, but I think words should be said on how self-respecting the political one makes a woman feel or how true the lyrics are.
