To prepare for a fly ball your hand must be ready. You want to make sure your knees are bent low to the ground. Your must be on your tip toes ready to run for the ball.

The bases are loaded with two outs. The crowd is dead silent as player number six comes up to bat. She being the only one to score on the opposite team with two crushed homeruns. The coach is signing off to the catcher trying to make sure that ball doesn't end up in number six’s sweet spot. The catcher begins signing to the pitcher trying to to be discreet. The pitcher begins positioning her hands on the ball remembering the many variations of finger placement. The infielders spread the word using hand signals to the out fielders. The whole team get down into their ready positions and the pitcher releases the ball. As soon as the ball is released from her hand the pitcher knows she messed up and the ball was going to head right for number six’s sweet spot. The ball gets annihilated and heads out for left center. The center fielder runs hard to the fence almost tripping over her own feet. To the crowd the ball looks like it's going to be way out of there but not to the center fielder. Before she can breathe she gets a glimpse of the ball. It looks as if it going to be just over so she reaches her glove over the fence and waits. In no time at all that ball lands in her glove giving the other team three outs and giving her team the win. You must search through the sky to locate the ball. (When learning this is usually the time when people break their nose’s.). Sometimes it's hard to determine if the ball is in front of you or heading behind you so you must take your first step back because is always easier to move forwards then backwards if you misjudge the ball.This step took me forever to learn because when you're in your ready position it feels as if all your momentum is going forward. You must move quickly to place yourself directly under the ball. At this point the sun can be your worst enemy and block the ball from your line of sight.
