Forensic Nursing is a specialty area in nursing where trained healthcare professionals provide care to patients who have experienced violence in the form of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, or child abuse (International Association of Forensic Nurses Foundation, 2023). One article discussed that, including the above issues, sexual assault survivors in rural areas also can have challenges related to beliefs and misinterpretation of information that can exist in small rural communities where a good old boy mentality is still prevalent (Treat et al., 2022).
