As the story goes on the fear starts to get bigger and bigger. As the kids come together for a meeting to talk about the worries everyone is having, piggy observes and states “ Unless-unless we’re frightened of people”(Golding 84). Golding shows deep foreshadowing suggesting that the kids will turn savage and start going against one another. As they are starting to get home sick and lose more hope they start to go against one another and get angry at little things. The foreshadowing displays that the kids haven't seen that they are turning savage and they are going to start turning against one another. Golding uses piggy to suggest this because he is intelligent and shy, showing he had deep thought before blurting out. Piggy’s hesitation when saying “Unless-unless” shows that he has fear for everyone else around him and is scared of everyone turning savage. Golding uses foreshadowing because the kids start to lose more and more hope that they won’t get off the island and eventually they will start to get crazy and turn savage. The savagery could cause arguments against one another and cause them to get further away from getting off the island. The kids are trying to find a way to get rescued but everything doesn’t seem to work out how they want
