As far as Foucault’s disciplinary power goes and how it shapes our human actions along with our identity, I have a great example, one that just recently took place at my job. I work at a hospital, and at this hospital, I work down in the kitchen and for the longest time there was not such a thing as security cameras or any kind of devices that would watch us while we work. Which meant there was always for the most part a manager who was noticeably present, or who was to at least be seen during the hours of work. We are all subjected to the culture industry around us, whether we like it or not we cannot get away from it. What seems to be an ongoing theme here is that of a capitalistic society where the bourgeoisie are in control and whatever they say or however they please goes. Normally what pleases a capitalistic society is one that sees gains in profit or sees something that could result in profit whether it has any value to society or not and this will be done by any means possible. The products that we see on an everyday basis are almost like a blindfold, or they are blinding us from what the culture industry is doing to our society. We are being given products that have no meaning, but only the purpose of being a commodity that is being sold to the public for only one purpose and that is profit. We have all seen the same television show or movie, at least I know I have where the movie may be different from the last one you had seen but the same concept or same idea still holds the same during the film or show. Like I mentioned earlier we are being blindfolded from the same crap that is being thrown our way time and time again, and as humans we are given no time to think or act because these products are being feed to us every single day. I believe this culture industry doesn’t give us time to shape our actions because there is always that next best thing out there that needs to be viewed or watched and the capitalistic society is to blame, because if it wasn’t about a profit we as humans could realize that we are viewing in our everyday lives is the same thing, and we could see the evil in these big corporations that exploit
