When people are around the fracking sites they are exposed to many gases. These gases can lead to asthma, headaches, high blood pressure, anemia, heart attacks, and cancer. Fracking gases can also affect health problems for babies that are not born yet. A study done by the Colorado Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, in 2014, found that mothers who live near fracking areas are 30% more likely to have babies with congenital heart defects (....). Another gas that is found in people’s homes is radon. Radon is a colorless, odorless, gas that is radioactive. A study at Johns Hopkins University found that homes located near fracking sites have an overall 39% higher concentration than non-fracking locations (.....).
