Pancho villa this time joined Emiliano Zapata and the 28th president of the united states, Woodrow Wilson. Yet president Woodrow Wilson soon stopped supporting villa after “Mexico’s move towards democracy”. This angered Francisco villa who responded with the killing and kidnapping of 18 Americans during January 1916. Villa fought the U.S. troops in 1916 and 1917 after having a number of arguments with many Mexican military groups. Soon after Carranza was assassinated and a new president came to power he was named Adolfo de la Huerta. Adolfo de la Huerta came to an agreement with Pancho villa in 1920 in which villa was forgiven for any crime he had committed in the past.
