The house belonged to the Kauffman family whose original idea was to build a house that just looked over the stream and its waterfalls. Wright’s plan was to actually incorporate the stream into the house’s design, which would be situated beneath the waterfall. Through his organic architecture, he sought out to build a home for the family that would leave the landscape as beautiful as it was before the house was there.
