Plot Differences:
1. Clerval is not a close childhood friend of Victor’s, but meets Victor while in Ingolstatd.
2. Elizabeth comes to Ingolstadt to visit Victor during the process of the monster’s creation instead of Victor visiting her and his family in Geneva after the death of William.
3. Justine was tried and hanged right away after being captured for being suspected of murduring William, while in the novel she was hanged after being placed in Prison.
4. Elizabeth’s heart is literally ripped out of her body by the monster on her’s and Victor’s wedding night, although in the novel, she is strangled by him.
5. Henry Clerval does not die in the film, while in the novel he is strangled to death by the monster.
6. In the film Victor refuses to animate a female companion for the monster when he brings him Justine’s dead body as material for him to use on his ride, while in the novel he refuses to when thinking about all the horrible consequences all this may cause and destroys what is already built of the female monster.
7. Walton re-creates Elizabeth and brings her back to life but she then destroys herself.
8. Caroline Beaufort dies of giving birth to her son William, not because of Scarlet Fever.
9. At the end of the movie, the monster burns himself along with Victor’s body at Frankenstein’s funeral, he doesn’t climb out of Walton’s ship and jump into the waves of the arctic sea as demonstrated in the novel.
