Another person that had a significant impact on Canada is Frederick Banting. Banting was one of the co-discoverers of insulin. While he was a professor of medical research at University of Toronto he had idea to research an internal secretion of the pancreas. In 1921 or 1922 the discovery of insulin had been announced and the fact that it could cure diabetes. They had tested it on dogs with diabetes before announcing it. Banting was the principal discoverer since it was his idea that had launched the research.
