Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life
On a daily basis, humans are faced with potential life changing decisions, even though they may seem insignificant in the grand scheme of life. Some problems, however, can literally affect the life of another human being. In recent media, the topic of abortion and whether people have the right to make such a decision is constantly debated, creating high tensions and mixed viewpoints, especially between pro-choice supporters and pro-life refuters. One of the more debated arguments between the two are when life begins: pro-life supporters usually view the beginning of life at the point of conception, while pro choice followers on the other hand disregard it completely, making it completely up to the surrogate’s opinion. Despite the low frequency, “4% of women who had an abortion cited concern for their own health as the primary reason for seeking an abortion”(Students for Life). Whether it be from an unplanned pregnancy, pro choice is essential as it gives power to the women, their bodies, and their future. Without pro-choice, it would lead to more unplanned pregnancies, and unfortunately, more deaths of the mothers and their babies as a
