In the world of medicine there is universal demand for those who can help others, and thanks to programs such as the Peace Corps, Doctors Without Borders, and Military I could work anywhere. By pursuing a degree with Pre-Medicine or Pre-Pharmacy, I am well on my way to becoming a health care specialist and working with many different locales to treat health related problems or developing new medicines for their needs. Part of my inspiration for this path is my grandfather's own story. By joining Vietnam with the Air-Force as a doctor he was able to participate in the conflict not by taking lives but saving them. Watching his films of marching through the jungle to deliver medicine and care to villages has always fascinated me, but what always stood out was the smiles on the peoples' faces as they received this care.
