Where Hinduism has the concept of free will, Islam does not have such a strong stance on free will such as its followers are dependent on the will of Allah. From an outside view many people see Islam as starting with the prophet Muhammad, but Muslims believe that Islam has always existed throughout history. Additionally, that Islam was gradually revealed through prophets in the Old and New Testaments eventually coming fully through Muhammad making him the last and final prophet.
Molloy discusses Islam’s strong moral code that all Muslims should follow called the Five Pillars of Islam. They consist of:
Creed (Shahadah) “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger.”
Prayer (Salat) Devout Muslims are called to pray five times a day: before dawn and at midday, midafternoon, sunset, and nighttime.
Charity to the poor (Zakat) Muhammad was troubled by injustice, inequality, and poverty, and the demand that people give to the poor was a part of his overall vision of a more just society.
Fasting during Ramadan (Sawn) To fast means to abstain from food for a specific period of time-Ramadan [is] the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, is the period during which Muhammad first received his revelations.
