They were about 75 to 80 percent of the whole population of France. The First estate was one percent of the population along with the second estate being only two percent of the population. The third estate was always the majority of the population such as farmers, craftspeople, shopkeepers, and other wage earners, in other words the third estate were made up of peasants/commoners. In document 6, Comte D'Antraigues explained that the third estate is the country of france not the third and second estates. He refers the first and second estates as political categories explaining that they are not part of France but just a group of people that consist only 3 percent of the population. The revolution went on and more people developed on individualism and ideas. This was because of the interest of the independence in America.

CM: The suggestion of the American revolution influenced france was correct. This was because of spark in interest of the enlightenment which was ideas and the development of individualism. The American revolution was the first to be a type of government that are not under the rule of a monarchy. This was the first to be ever seen and word spreaded by all
