In the dictionary, the definition of friendship is “ the state of being friends.” However, my definition of friendship would be to know that you can always depend on someone. In the novel, Ride or Die, the protagonist, Ruby, encounters herself with multiple inferior choice. Throughout her journey of rebelliousness she realizes that her amount of friends decreased. In the end, she is left with only two friends which help her secede from her rebel phase, and Ruby realized who her true friends were the entire time. They were the ones who always saw the light at the end of the tunnel even when Ruby couldn’t see it in herself. In a true friendship there is no hypocrisy.
