Dark matter is something that we can't see, touch or even detect with telescope or microscope, The only thing we know about it exists in space around stars and galaxies and invisible for us but its is observable and is made up of atoms that each as much as human cells, while dark is thought to make up five-sixth of all the matter in the universe and Roughly 80 percent of all the mass of universe is made up of material that does not emits light or energy.

Dark matter was first identified in 1933 by Fritz Zwicky He was famous for astronomy and he made several important discoveries. He discovered that if you look at galaxies in clusters, they orbit around each other. From the speed of the orbit, it is possible to measure the mass (the amount of matter) of the cluster. However, when Zwicky made these calculations, he found that part of the total mass could not be accounted for, He believed that there must be some dark material in space which is invisible and does not emits light responsible for the extra mass.
