In the book Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, by Gabrielle Zevin, the main character, Naomi Porter, throughout the story due to her experiencing amnesia.
Before Naomi fell down the stairs at her high school, she demonstrated strong character traits such as committed, relieved, aware, and receptive. To begin, “6:36 pm Naomi Porter and William Landsman… leave the offices of The Phoenix” (Zevin 10). Will sent papers on what happened on the day that Naomi fell down the stairs to her so that she would know what happened. Naomi is glad that she has a friend like Will to tell her these thing. She is very committed to the yearbook and works late at night at school. She loves yearbook and wants to make sure that it is perfect. Likewise, “I have always been…show more content… As and example, “Basically you think she is a fake and trying to be your mother.” (Zevin 20) Will Landsman and Naomi Porter are talking about her dad’s soon to be new wife. She doesn’t like her very much. Naomi is frustrated that Will didn’t tell her about Rosa and also disgusted with herself about not liking her. She normally likes people she thought, but she doesn’t like Rosa. She doesn’t know who she is anymore. In contrast, “I knew everything about him, and he knew everything about me, and all that made our quiet a kind of song.” (Zevin 271) This is the end of the book. Will and Naomi are sitting in Will’s car. They finally realized that they both love each other. Naomi is happy to be with Will. She realized that she is better off with him than she is with Ace or James. She finally found who loves her, and where she belongs. To sum it up, Naomi doesn’t know how to be herself so she starts making changes, but she eventually learns that she is right where she needs to be; she needs to be with her best
