Personally I love how Porter starts his article with quotes from Gandhi, Lincoln and Snoopy to show all of the different ways the meaning of happiness is to different people.
Gandhi was one of the greatest leaders that inspired many movements across the world. I am fascinated with many of his quotes. For me happiness is attached to these three concepts, thoughts, speech, and what you do, without one of them happiness falls apart and the perception of it disappears getting derailed towards MONEY!
Our thoughts are strongly connected to the reality of our lives, when we seek for happiness in our lives everything gets point out towards our external world for changes. However it is changes in our way of thinking that will create an impact to achieve

Being successful in a field making lots of money and receiving awards from colleagues could be very gratifying and make you extremely happy. But if our internal thoughts don’t corroborate with these successes and instead we feel that we are no good enough, everything will come downhill having the emotions of failure in our lives making us very unhappy.

Porter acknowledges in these paragraph how many of American citizens-and many citizen from around the world spend much of their time and energy working to make more money thinking these is what will make them happy.
To be happy we don’t only need money for material things. Most of the time we get so caught up in wanting new technology or the best cloths, for example, that all we do is work to get economically stable to pursuit on buying all these luxury to be happy.
Can deny that all of these material things are very nice to have and maybe to show off, but now I believed and I try to stay as focus as I can on these that being healthy, having a partner a son or someone’s company and to cherish this life next to them is what true happiness
