Police have acknowledged that the youth in gang ne are becoming more of a problem in society today. Police are focusing on the entire population at risk and the identification of those conditions. Second they are preventing targets those individuals who have been identified at being at greater risk of becoming delinquent. Gang prevention targets those individuals who are already involved in criminal activity or who are in the gang. The police have tried a variety of suppression strategies to disrupt gang activity and decrease the numbers of gangs. They have tried environmental efforts and factors and the provision of improved opportunities. Primary prevention is the school based program. Schools provide one of the common grounds for the youth. Although growing numbers of children are being home schooled, the majority of the youth are in public schools. The school has in recent years started a delinquency programs for the youth. The youth gun reduction and the police have used the fear strategies has enforced one another. Police have been able to reduce drug trafficking which is mostly done by gangs with the help of the community. They are using sting operations where they are imposter as a dealer trying to make deals with other dealers than arrest them. The Kansas City in Missouri was successful in their effort. The police departments in high crime neighborhoods by routinely stop traffic violators, youth in violation of curfews, and individuals involved in gangs who have infractions of the law. During these stops police will look for any infractions that give them legal authority to search a car or pedestrian for illegal guns. Special gun intercept teams have proven to be 10 times more cost effective than regular police
