There Are No Children Here There Are No Children Here is a book written by Alex Koslowitz and it follows the story of two brothers in a Chicago Housing project and what they go through while living there. In this essay, I will be talking about the other side of America that people usually don’t like to talk about. In my opinion, this was a very good book as you can see what people who lived in these types of places had to go through. This book invites readers to broaden their perspectives and experiences as many will not encounter this firsthand. In this essay, the example I will be talking about is gang violence and how much power they hold at Horner. These gangs usually target young boys to help them do their dirty work like murder or helping them sell drugs. “Gangs often recruit young children to do their dirty work.
