This persona was supposed to be for the future film called “The Lamb”, but it was ignored by a lot of country fans, and it was deemed to be a failure, not bringing any growth to his career. About 16 years ago, on October 26, 2000, Garth Brooks announced that he was retiring from stardom to focus on his family. Since he could not balance out his career in country music and family life, he decided to take a break from the show business. He announced his departure from country music at a party his record label threw for him, celebrating selling 100 million albums in the United States. His inability to balance both his career and family affected his life in a negative manner, and he got a divorce from his failing marriage with Sandy Mahl after a fourteen year marriage, released the album Scarecrow and retired. During his retirement, he got to raise his three young girls: Taylor Mayne Pearl, August Anna, and Allie Colleen. He had stated that the best years of his life were when he took a break from music and focused on fatherhood, raising his three children. Brooks said he was going to stay away from the spotlight until his last daughter turned eighteen.
