I would also like to explore the possible similarities shared amongst the two. Through comparative studies and varying viewpoints of the family, I will explore what difficulties children face, and if this is related to the family in which they belong. I will explore the case study “‘Who is in your family?’ that focuses on children's representation of their family in Italy along with a study preformed in Canada, “Social Stigma and the Situation of Young People in Lesbian and Gay Stepfamilies.” These case studies, along with scholarly articles will further my evaluation of the topic. The theoretical framework will be implemented to structure my analysis. The overarching framework of the “Queer Theory” will help to explain the significance of the variances in the homosexual family from the heterosexual family. Also, the framework of stigmatization will be used in compliance with the first theory to show how each family is affected by whom they surround themselves
