I researched Alexander the great on the computer there were many different sites to go on and a lot of information. I also went to the library and look at a few books. I got more from the internet, I found it to be more helpful and I think there was more detailed information.
In my project I will show the many battles of Alexander the great. Who his people were, his mother, father and close friend. How he got his kingdom the death of his father and the legends of who his true father was. And then you will understand why he was called Alexander the Great.
On either the 10 or 11 June 323 BC, Alexander died in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar II, in Babylon, at age 32 details of the death differ slightly- Plutarch’s account is that roughly 14 days before his death, Alexander entertained admiral Nearchus, and spent the night and the next day drinking with Medius of Larissa.
Laris Diodorus recounts that Alexander was struck with pain after downing a large bowl of unmixed wine in honor of Hercules, and died after some agony. Arrian also mentioned this as an alternative, but Plutarch specifically denied this claim. He developed a fever, which worsened until he was unabl to speak. For Alexander, the beginning of the end came when his best friend Hephaestion died of a fever. Hephaestion had been his close companion since they were teenagers. Many scholars say that Alexander and Hephaestion were lovers. Hephaestion’s death was devastating to Alexander.
