A leader is anyone who influences people to accomplish goals, inspire others to do good deeds, and shape decisions to make an organization better. In any of the five branches of military, everyone will have to be a leader. Being part of the US military, you will have leadership advantages and opportunities over individuals who do not join. Twenty six out forty four of the United States presidents have served in the military. Mandatory drafts allow individuals at least four years of service and have a chance to be ranked higher leaders. Companies including: Xerox, General Electric, and the US Pentagon offers higher paying and ranking jobs to people who have served. Leadership opportunities are offered across three areas: career, academic, and athletic. Becoming an academic leader after serving in the military is when individuals become different members of boards and councils. Career deployment also may help veterans become academic leaders. If students join the military, this gives them a “head start” on their education.Young adults will learn techniques while being in the forces about their career fields. Finally, being compelled to join the military after high school will give them more athletic advantages and leadership opportunities as well. Most career fields call for at least four years of schooling. Unless students are given a scholarship or grant, they have to pay full tuition or seek financial help. Serving a complete four year term in the military, individuals will receive a Post G-I bill. This pays for up to 100 percent of your college fees and tuition. The bill is given to compensate veterans for the time they put in service and given them an opportunity to succeed. If a military draft took place every year after high school, more students would be offered money after serving, and will have more of an opportunity to go to
