He was born October 14, 1890, Denison, TX, He died March 28, 1969 age 78 years, Washington, D.C. He was famous for planning two of the most consequential military campaigns of World War II: Operation Torch in the North Africa campaign in 1942 to 1943 and the invasion of Normandy in 1944.
