Conflict between Terrorists and General Public
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the conflict between the two parties in detail and figure out a balanced way to come up with a solution to the problems that this conflict causes. For this very purpose this conflict will be analyzed in various dimensions including the power resources of both these parties, how does climate effects these parties and the conflict itself and how do the parties effect the conflict. Additionally how the concept of face-saving influences the parties and the conflict, managing the said conflict and the frames to be used and in what ways a third party intervention can influence in managing and resolving the said conflict are also some spectrums …show more content…
The general public is definitely greater in number than the terrorist and thus their volume is their most prominent social power. The said volume can influence the decisions of the terrorist, if the general public unites and acts as one. On contrary to which the terrorists have referent social power which means they can use their terror and terrorist activities as an influence whenever a conflict arises between them and the general public. They can influence the conflict by causing more terrorist activities then before. Their threats can create greater pressure on the public and can move the conflict towards their betterment using this pressure. There is not much that the general public would be able to do regarding such powerful influence. Even though it can be understood that the terrorists have lower social influences resources as compared to the governmental social resources, however the general public may be said to have social power resources weaker than those of the terrorists. c. It is hence to not be neglected that once its developed what the general public actually wants, looking or a solution has become easier Thus the "in order to" part of the conflict management has better explained the conflict itself.
4. Now to look for the actual solutions following can be considered:
a. Special forces to be brought together to stop terrorism
b. Terrorists to be confronted and punished to establish an example so that later no one would indulge in such activities.
c. Provide fool proof security and identification systems to the citizens and general public to avoid such incidences.

To mediate the conflict between the terrorists and the general public would be a great task which would require great deal of research prior to the negotiations. If , for example, I were a mediator between the two parties there would be certain downsides that would have to be studied earlier. One major downside of mediating such conflict negotiation would be the distrust of the general public as well as the terrorists. As the climates is hostile , the general public may consider me an alien to them as I am trying to establish a negotiation between them and the terrorists. On the other hand, the terrorists may not trust me as I belong to the general public and they may consider me biased. Hence I would require prior preparations to make the parties
