Hyperbole was a rhetorical device that has supported Seaver’s letter in order to respond back to Herbert. Seaver indicates of having “...Sympathy of your feeling…” towards Coca-Cola, mocking Herbert for acting childish and is simply overreacting about the use of the slogan (line 3). Seaver is more bitter against Coca-Cola, but hides it by the use of exaggeration; conveys a stronger voice because of the rhetorical covering his footprints. Furthermore, Seaver believes that consumers would “...mistake a book by a Harlem schoolteacher for a six-pack of Coca-Cola…”, but why would do so? (lines 5-6). As in previously mentioned in Herbert’s letter, the use of the slogan by a different cooperation would create confusion among the audience. Therefore,
