Media’s number one goal of programming is making the profit; so rather than putting out images beneficial for people and society, they put out the images and stories that make them the most money and profit. Speaking about manipulation, Rebecca Solnit says, “A Haitian police officer ties up a suspected looter who was carrying a bag of evaporated milk” (237). This illustrates that for the media stealing a bag of evaporated milk is the big story in a disastrous situation, not the reason why that poor man is stealing for? “The looter in the first photo might well have been taking that milk to starving children and babies…” (Solnit 237). Why he stole the milk in a situation maybe he was trying to save the starving children’s and baby's life but that is not the big news or story; stealing the milk and labeling them looter in this situation is the big story for the media. Especially, this is just manipulating the people the viewer making them have a negative preview of these poor people that they are looter in a disaster condition. On the other hand, George Orwell says, “Bad writers, and especially scientific, political, and sociological writers, are nearly always haunted by the notion the Latin or Greek words are grander than Saxonness and unnecessary words” (207). This clarifies how the media manipulates politics to its constituent’s media plays a huge also in politics. In politics, scientific, and sociological writers they use constant jargon and unnecessary meaningless words and make it difficult for people to understand. Moreover, rich politicians who want to manipulate public can pay media for advertising to present their upright picture to public and media takes advantage of it and manipulates public
