George Washington was from Virginia and was a farmer on Mount Vernon. He first saw battle during the French and Indian War, where he wasn’t successful and many of his men where killed. During the Revolution, he was the leader of the Continental Army, and once the war was over, became America’s first president. He was praising his soldiers after the battle of Trenton because they were very brave and followed orders. This shows how Washington's men follow his order and how he cares about his troops. He’s worried that if they don’t get the soldiers or supplies they need, Britain will attack and they won’t be able to stop them.
