I think George Washington was honored, and surprised about being the first president of the United States. I think he was honored because of all the people to be chosen as president, he was. I also think he was also surprised because he was chosen unanimously.
I think Washington was hesitant to become president because he didn’t know how to act. Since no one had ever been president previously, there wasn’t anyone to give him advice about the job and to guide him. I think he was afraid of acting like a king when he was elected president.
