Alsace-Lorrain was in Europe, in the middle of the Vosges mountains and the Rhine river. The first world war had much impact on Alsace-Lorrain, the region was caught in the middle of the war. Due to its location, and appearance in French propaganda it was met with much adversity.in the year of 1871 the German army took hold of Alsace -Lorraine. With German power coursing the its veins, most all French influence was gone. Many thousand German settlers immigrated to Alsace-Lorraine.
