Peyton Pascoe AP Lang Mrs. McAllister April 10, 2024 In his eulogy at the funeral of Senator Ted Kennedy, on the twenty-ninth of August in Boston, Massachusetts; At the time, President Barack Obama used a variety of rhetorical strategies including emotional appeal, parallel structure, and logical appeals to highlight not only the hardships Kennedy faced, but more importantly his accomplishments despite those impediments. Obama speaks in an empowering yet respectful tone to listeners not just at the funeral, but around the world. Beginning in the third paragraph, Obama appeals to the emotions of his listeners by stating “This spirit of resilience and good humor will see Ted Kennedy through more pain and suffering than most of us will ever know”.
