Giant pandas are becoming extinct, and people need to do something to put an end to this. Everybody is trying to do things to try to save the giant pandas. For example, scientists have been trying to breed them in zoos, so they can keep the panda population increasing. Even the government is trying to protect the giant panda, the government has tried to protect the pandas, establishing reserves of bamboo-rich public land for them. The numbers of pandas highly increased with everybody trying there best to increase panda population. Before anyone helped out the pandas, they were going to be extinct with less than 2,000 pandas. Now there are more 3,500 are everybody is doing their part to keep it that way.

Giant pandas eating habits are much like other animals but a lot cooler, for example, they have large molar teeth and strong jaw muscles for crushing tough bamboo. Giant pandas mainly eat bamboo but with meats and plants with a percentage lower than 10% every two weeks! Giant pandas also eat around 85 pounds of bamboo a day. The reason giant pandas have to eat 85 pounds of bamboo a day is because they have a weak digestive system that can not easily change plants into food energy that quickly.

Although one panda can only give birth 1-2 times a year, there are many other pandas that can keep reproducing and keeping the panda race going. When the cub is born it looks like a stick of butter of how tiny it is. The cubs are blind and cannot see through their eyes until they are about 6-8 weeks old. The cubs stay with their mom until they are 3, because they are old enough to go out into the wild
