America, or more the people of America, has given me so much. All the time, we take things for granted. We see other countries struggling, with brutal warfare within its borders. We see ,or at least pretend to, the world’s pain. So many people are hurting. And it’s not just in other countries. Just within our nation, we have people, cast out by society, living in the streets. We have an ever-growing political war. There is an enormous amount of debt hanging over our heads, no one really willing to do something about it. And we have it so much better than some countries. At, school teachers talk about everything our founding fathers have done for us. Nobody really pays attention. America has given me so many things that are easy to forget about. Freedom of speech and religion are definitely not something to forget about. Living in peace and serenity is a blessing we tend to forget about. But, to me, the biggest gift I can receive is is the gift of being able to give to others. Please ponder that for a moment. There are countries, distracted by their problems, where the people just can’t go and be giving to others. They are either living in fear, or are in too much poverty to be able to care about anyone but them and their family. You see, we notice what this nation has given us. We see the blessings, and we see the pain. We observe the hard times and the thriving times. We recognize the commercials, movies, and TV shows about great people and what they did to strengthen our nation, and we witness the outcome. Then, we move on. Simple as that. We don’t take into consideration the things we could do. It may just be that my generation is still learning and growing, but I can say the same thing about some of our adults. I can do so many things to help other people. I can even start now. I can
