Today I am going to be talking to you about Tourette’s syndrome and how it affects the people who have it. Gilles de Tourette syndrome also known as Tourette’s or T.S Is a neurological disorder which causes vocal and motor tics. It was first document in 1885 by Gilles de la tourette. The criteria for diagnosis is 2 motor and 1 vocal tic for at least one year between the ages of 1 and 18. No case of tourettes is ever the same. There is No cure for tourettes although there is some limited treatment.
There are many different varieties of tics and hey can wax and wane through itu a person's lifetime. There are estimated to be around 3 in every 1000 children in america who have tourettes.

Many people with tourettes will take medication to alleviate their tics. There is no education for tourettes, rather They Doctors use medication made for people with other disorders like parkinson's or psychosis.
