It's now becoming the season for Girl Scouts Cookies. Many eat them every year at this time. Have you ever thought about who invented them?

The first time they sold them is in 1917 when the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma made sugar cookies and sold them in a high school cafeteria as a public service project. This continued to all troops in the 1920's and 1930's. By selling them door to door. In 1936 they had licensed the first commercial bakers to make them. In 1951 they invented Chocolate Mints aka Thin Mints, Shortbread, and Sandwich these were the three flavors.
