The glass escalator theory states the differences in progression that men and women experience in the workforce; basically, there are hidden advantages that men have opposed to women. This theory shows how society lifts up men over their women coworkers in almost every type of occupation. This theory is very unfair because sometimes women are much more qualified for a specific job, but a man gets it on top of her just because he was born with a Y chromosome. Men come into a woman dominated workplace, start to work, and become paid higher and move up further faster than any of their woman coworkers.
